BREVARD, N.C. – The reigning USA South Conference Regular Season and Tournament Champion Brevard College women's soccer team has been selected to defend its crown, earning a first-place finish in the annual USA South Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.
Brevard was placed atop the rankings thanks to receiving 80 total points and eight of the possible ten first place votes. The Tornados finished last season with an unblemished 9-0-0 record, the second consecutive year Brevard has not dropped a Conference regular season contest. The Tornados have not lost a League regular season game since October 14, 2023. Since that defeat, Brevard has posted a USA South record of 19-0-1 with 17 consecutive victories. Southern Virginia, who lost out to Brevard in last year's USA South Tournament title game via penalty kicks, came in second in the voting with 73 points and the remaining two first place nods. Rounding out the top-three of the preseason poll was Greensboro who gathered 61 points.
The 2026 USA South Women's Soccer Tournament will once again be conducted exclusively on campus sites. The top-eight seeded teams will advance to the tournament which will begin with first round action on Saturday, October 31. The semifinals will take place Wednesday, November 4 with the finals occurring on Saturday, November 7. The higher-seeded team in each contest will host that particular match. In last season's tournament final, top-seeded Brevard took the title via penalty kicks (5-4) over second-seeded Southern Virginia after a 0-0 draw.

Brevard continues preseason action with a home scrimmage this evening at 6 p.m. vs. HFC. The Tornados open the 2026 regular season up on Tuesday, September 1 at 8 p.m. as BC takes on Piedmont in Demorest, Georgia. The home opener for the Tornados is scheduled for Saturday, September 12 at 7 p.m. vs. Guilford.
