SWANNANOA, N.C. - The Brevard College volleyball team (2-3) dominated Warren Wilson (0-2), 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-21) to complete the season sweep over the Owls at the Devries Athletic Center.
Brevard's middle-blocker duo of Bailey Blackmon (11 kills) and Emma Fontana (nine kills) led the attack for the Tornados, while freshman Ariel Rieck distributed a team-high 17 assists. Madison Warren added 11 assists, with Rieck completing her first collegiate double-double, tallying 11 digs.
Pandora Keele (13 kills) and Akeela Cunningham (10 kills) led the Owls' offense, while the defense was paced by Josie McCoy (16 digs) and Cunningham (15 digs).
Brevard cruised to a nine-point win in set one, and withstood late Owl scoring runs in the second and third sets to claim the sweep.
Brevard returns to play at the Maroon Classic on Friday, facing NC Wesleyan at 6 p.m. before taking on Roanoke at 8 p.m. in Salem, Virginia.
