BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College senior goalkeeper Abby Nunez secured her second USA South Conference Defender of the Week honor of the 2026 campaign following a busy week of unbeaten road action for the Tornados.
 
Nunez, a Homestead, Florida native, notched two shutouts and a 2-0-1 record last week for the Tornados. In 270 total minutes played, Nunez stopped 12 of the 13 shots faced. In a scoreless draw against Carolina University, Nunez stopped all four shots faced. In a 1-0 shutout of Warren Wilson, Nunez made six saves. Finally, in a 2-1 victory over USA South foe Mary Baldwin, Nunez collected two saves.
 
Overall through six matches in 2026, Nunez holds an unbeaten 4-0-2 record while competing in all 540 minutes on the pitch. The senior has allowed just two goals while making 22 saves, and has notched four shutouts.
 
The Tornados are back at home on Wednesday, taking on Salem at 4 p.m. at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
