Brittany Lawson was named Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Brevard College in advance of the 2024-25 campaign, and begins her second season with the Tornados. BC advanced to the USA South Conference Women's Basketball Championship in Lawson's first season at Brevard.
Lawson arrived at Brevard after tenures as an assistant coach at Lees-McRae College, Carolina University and Harris Stowe State University.
Lawson began her career at Harris Stowe State in St. Louis, Missouri where she began as an Assistant Coach and after three seasons was named Interim Head Coach. In her time at Harris Stowe, Lawson produced five NAIA Scholar-Athletes as well as a first-team All-Conference performer and an American Midwest Conference Newcomer of the Year.
In August of 2020, Lawson was named Assistant Coach at Carolina University in Winston, Salem, North Carolina. In her three seasons with the Bruins, she handled a vast array of responsibilities and developed two NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) All-Americans. Defensively, Lawson helped guide Carolina to a ranking as the third-ranked scoring defense (57.9 points-per-game) in the NCCAA.
Lawson spent this past basketball season as Assistant Coach for Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. In addition to helping lead the Bobcats on the court in 2022-23, Lawson helped direct efforts that led to a 3.50 GPA in the classroom and over 500 hours of service work in the community.
In her playing career, Lawson was a proficient women's basketball student-athlete at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. In 2015, she was named First-Team All-Conference, while ranking among the NAIA national leaders in rebounds and blocked shots. She began her collegiate playing career at Mineral Area College in Missouri where she was named First-Team All-Region for the 2012-13 season.
Lawson graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Cumberland University and also holds an Associate's degree from Mineral Area College.
