Eric Friedt

Eric Friedt has been named Assistant Volleyball Coach at Brevard College, announced Head Coach Abbie Parde.  Friedt will begin his duties at Brevard College on August 1 in advance of pre-season practice for the Fall 2024 season.

"I'm excited to bring Coach Friedt on board this fall," said Parde.  "He brings vast knowledge and a ton of passion around the sport. Coach Friedt's positivity and energetic approach will help elevate this program to the next level!"

Friedt arrives at Brevard College from Akron, Ohio where he is currently a head coach and an assistant coach for multiple Junior Olympic Girls Volleyball teams with NOVA Juniors.  In addition for the past several seasons, he has served as the Head JV Girls Volleyball Coach and the Assistant Boys Volleyball Coach at Stow-Munroe Falls High School in Stow, Ohio.    

"It is an honor to take this next step in my coaching career at Brevard College," said Friedt.  "I am exhilarated to join such an outstanding community and volleyball program. I look forward to getting to work with Coach Abbie Parde and the incredible student-athletes here and doing something special together!"

In addition to his coaching experience, Friedt has gained experience with top-flight sports organizations in Northeast Ohio.  He served as an intern for Enshrinement Week in 2019 for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.  Also in 2019, he worked as an Annual Giving Programs Associate for the International Soap Box Derby Headquarters. 

Furthermore, Friedt has served the community as a mentor at The Lebron James Family Foundation's I Promise School and as a swim instructor for the Akron Public School system.

Friedt graduated Cum Laude from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Studies-Sport Management with a Minor in Business Administration.  While at the University of Akron, Friedt founded the school's Men's Volleyball Club team.
