The Tornados took the first two sets by the score of 25-22, before dropping the third set 15-25. The Tornados sealed the victory with a 25-21 victory in the fourth set thanks to 10 kills from Conner, who also came up with 10 digs in the match.

Kayla Hanus had a breakout performance as well, contributing a season-high 46 assists. Freshman Fatima Gharachorloo also benefitted form the sets of Hanus, posting a career-high nine kills against the Trojans.

The win improved the Tornados to 1-0 in South Atlantic Conference play and a perfect 7-0 on the season.
