GREENVILLE, S.C. - For the second time in 2023, the Brevard College volleyball team (8-12) fell in straight-set fashion (25-19, 25-19, 25-14) to Bob Jones University (23-4) on Thursday evening in Greenville, South Carolina. 

Ashley Hoxit led the way for the Tornados with a team-high 11 kills, and logged 12 digs for a double-double while also serving up four aces. Kaitlyn Pressley distributed 18 assists and added six kills and eight digs for an all-around effort, while Bailey Lance totaled 17 digs on the defensive side. 

Bob Jones had a pair of double-digit kill performers with Victoria Glaze (12) and Katherine Hoopes (11), while Kiersten Hoopes had game-highs with 31 assists and 21 digs. 

Brevard jumped out to an early 3-1 edge in the first set, but BJU took over from that point holding the lead all the way up to a six-point first set win, 25-19. The second set was more competitive with five ties and a pair of lead changes, but Bob Jones took the set with an identical score 25-19. With the score 8-7 in favor of the hosts in the third set, BJU used a 12-3 scoring run to push its advantage up to a 10-point margin, 20-10, and wrapped up the sweep with a 25-14 win in the final set. 

The Tornados return home for Senior Day where its senior class will be honored prior to its 2 p.m. match vs. Meredith at the Boshamer Gymnasium on Saturday, as Caitlin Hagarty, Bailey Lance, Caelyn Murphy, Makenna Parkins, Kaitlyn Pressley, and Logan Priddy will all be honored.
