SWANNANOA, N.C. - Senior forward
Taylor Richardson scored a hat trick as the Brevard College women's soccer team (3-2) trounced Warren Wilson College (0-3) 7-0 on Wednesday evening in Swannanoa, North Carolina in a matchup of two Western North Carolina-area institutions.
Richardson, a native of Seminole, Florida, notched the first hat trick of her Tornado career, scoring three second half goals. Fellow senior
Grace Black scored the first goal of the game for the Tornados in the sixth minute, while sophomore
Olivia Guillermo scored the seventh of the match while also assisting on two scores.
Kaleia Hartman and Camden Pacheco scored the first goals of their collegiate career as well, as Brevard dominated the shot count totaling a season-high 46 shots while holding the Owls shot-less in 90 minutes of play.
Warren Wilson's Sabine Costello-Sanders made 20 saves.
Richardson led the way for Brevard with six shots, with Pacheco (five shots),
Austin Huffman (four shots), and Guillermo (four shots) all tallied high shot attempts for the Tornados.
Brevard will look to extend its win streak when they host Carolina University on a busy Saturday at Ives-Lemel Family Field, with kickoff slated for 12 p.m.
