BREVARD, N.C. – Senior defensive specialist Bailey Lance and junior setter Logan Priddy each reached major career milestones as the Brevard College volleyball team (4-7, 2-3 USA South) swept away Pfeiffer University (5-6, 1-5 USAS) in three sets on Wednesday evening at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
 
Lance totaled her 1,000^th career dig, becoming just the fourth Tornado in the NCAA era to join the 1,000-dig club, while Priddy dished out her 1,000^th career assist as the fifth BC student-athlete to rack up 1,000 assists in the NCAA era.
 
The Tornados earned a straight-set victory over the Falcons after winning the first set 25-20 and storming to a 25-16  second set win. Brevard closed out the match in the third frame with a four-point, 25-21 victory.
 
Kaitlyn Pressley (13 kills), Ashley Hoxit (nine kills), and Makenna Parkins (nine kills) led the Tornado offense, while freshman Lili White had a career-high six kills.  Priddy totaled 20 assists and three service aces while Pressley earned a double-double with 11 assists to facilitate the Brevard offensive attack. Parkins racked up a career-best 18 digs, while Lance added 13 digs defensively and totaled three service aces, while Kendall Rockstad led the Tornados with three blocks.
 
The Falcons were led by Mattie Hinson, who registered 10 kills. Kylee Mayberry distributed 15 assists, while Madison Halsey and Kylee Mayberry led the defense with 13 and 11 digs, respectively.
 
Brevard opened up a 15-10 lead in the first set, but the Falcons were able to battle back and take an 18-17 set lead. With the score 21-20 in favor of the Tornados, however, closed the first set out with four straight points on a Falcon set error, a Hoxit kill, and a pair of Priddy service aces.
 
The Tornados carried their momentum over to set number two, scoring the first four points of the set. Pfeiffer used a 5-0 scoring run to take a two-point lead midway through, 12-10, but Brevard dominated in the latter stages of the frame, going on a 10-0 scoring stretch to turn the tides. White drove home a kill on a Pressley assist that closed a 25-16 set win out for Brevard.
 
The third set was tightly contested, with the Tornados able to gain some separation with a 4-0 scoring run that gave Brevard a 15-12 lead. BC extended the edge out to four points, 18-14, and the Tornados scored three of the final four points of the set to earn the 25-21 victory. Pressley notched her 13^th kill of the match for the 24^th point of the set, and a Falcon attack error closed the match out in Brevard's favor as the Tornados closed out the sweep.  
Brevard returns to action this weekend with a USA South tri-match on the road. The Tornados will travel to Rocky Mount, North Carolina on Saturday to first face Southern Virginia at 12 p.m. before taking on match host NC Wesleyan at 2 p.m.
 
MILESTONE WATCH: Senior outside hitter/setter Kaitlyn Pressley currently sits at 966 assists for her Tornado career, as she is just 34 assists shy of joining teammate Logan Priddy in the 1,000-assist club in Brevard's NCAA era. Senior defensive specialist Bailey Lance (113 service aces) is now just seven service aces away from setting a new Brevard College volleyball NCAA-era career record for service aces (Aleksandra Vrvilo, 119 service aces, 2013-16).
