ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Brevard College volleyball team (5-8, 3-4 USA South) split a pair of matches at a USA South Conference Tri-Match played Saturday afternoon in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The Tornados defeated the host N.C. Wesleyan (4-12, 2-6 USAS) in four sets to take their first road conference win of the season. Earlier in the day, BC fell in a five-set thriller to Southern Virginia (7-11, 4-3 USAS) in neutral-site action.

Kaitlyn Pressley reached the 1,000-assist mark for her career in Brevard's 3-1 victory over NC Wesleyan, joining teammate
Logan Priddy who also reached that milestone earlier this week.
Fellow senior
Bailey Lance also set the new career service ace record for the NCAA era, as the Mills River, North Carolina native notched her 120th career service ace in Saturday's win.
Brevard 3, N.C. Wesleyan 1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-21)
After dropping the first set 25-20, the Tornados rallied to win three consecutive sets to take the match over N.C. Wesleyan.
Pressley led the team in assists with 19 to go along with a career-best six service aces, eight kills and 12 digs. Sophomore
Blair Nance registered a season-high eight kills. Junior
Ashley Hoxit also delivered on a team-high 12 kills to go along with three blocks on the defensive end.

Jaxson Tumicki recorded a career-high with six blocks, while senior
Makenna Parkins added three blocks. Lance led the defense on the back line with 22 digs.
Caitlin Hagarty added eight digs on the defensive end.
Ahead 2-1 in sets, BC's lead was cut to 22-21 in the fourth set. The Tornados rallied to score three straight points beginning with a kill by
Logan Priddy off a Pressley assist. With Hagarty serving, Pressley then set up a Hoxit kill to set up match point. A successful service from Hagarty led to a rally and an eventual error by N.C. Wesleyan to complete the victory for Brevard.
Southern Virginia 3, Brevard 2 (23-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 15-8)
Brevard won the first two sets by the identical score of 25-23, before the Knights did the same to BC in sets three and four. Tied 2-2 in sets, the decisive fifth stanza went to Southern Virginia who outlasted the Tornados 15-8.
Hoxit led the BC attack with 15 kills, while Pressley had another huge all-around offensive effort with 12 kills and 15 assists. Parkins delivered with eight ills and three aces to complement 11 digs and two blocks on the defensive end.
Lance led the team with 29 digs and five aces. Junior middle blocker
Kendall Rockstad came through at the net with a team-best four blocks.
BC won the first set with back-to-back kills both finished off by Pressley on assists by Priddy. In the second set, another kill from Pressley gave BC multiple set points beginning at 24-19 before finishing off the Knights 25-23.
Southern Virginia however won two very tight sets, before completing the victory with the fifth set result.
USA South Conference play will continue for the Tornados with a home match on Tuesday at 6 p.m. vs. Greensboro at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
