BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's basketball team (8-8, 3-2 USA South) scored a season-high 91 points and hit its shots at a 57% clip to keep rolling, winning its third-consecutive USA South Conference game by defeating Methodist University (3-11, 1-3 USAS) on Sunday afternoon at the Boshamer Gymnasium.

The Tornados and Monarchs each shot the ball above 50%, but Brevard was able to drain 12 3-pointers compared to four from Methodist. BC dished out 21 assists on 34 total field goals. Brevard outpaced Methodist 29-10 in fastbreak points and BC's bench contributed 36 total points.Â

Senior guard Carson Evans matched his career high with 20 points on seven field goals (including a team-high four 3-pointers) and a pair of free throws. Charlie Hester added 13 points while Quincy Carter put up 12 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Chancey Watson and Sly White each scored nine points, while Jason Carnes posted eight points and five rebounds.Â

Methodist was paced by four double-digit scorers, as the Monarchs were led by Derrick Hicklen who had 24 points. Ron Jones added 18 points, while Brone Brinson (16 points) and Zac Sledge (10 points) rounded out MU's top scorers.Â

The Tornados conclude their three-game homestand on Wednesday, January 17 when Brevard hosts Greensboro College at 7 p.m.Â
