BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College men's soccer team (6-3-2, 3-1-1 USA South) dropped a 2-1 battle to North Carolina Wesleyan (7-2-4, 5-0-0) on Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field. The matchup between the Tornados and the Battling Bishops pitted the top two teams in the USA South Conference standings.
The game marked Senior Day for the Brevard College men's soccer program with 13 seniors being honored at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
The two teams played a very even match with both offenses held scoreless for the first 74 minutes. In the 66th minute of action, Brevard went a man-down and NCWU capitalized with a goal less than ten minutes later as Justo Esponda-Neuss scored on a header from a corner kick by Tiago Feler to break the deadlock.
Still up a man, the Battling Bishops scored again just nine minutes later on a free kick by Feler to give the visitors a 2-0 lead. Following the goal however, a red card by NCWU created an even situation with both teams competing with ten players.
Brevard quickly took advantage as senior

Vitor Razera in the 86th minute. The goal by Lima cut the deficit in half and the Tornados continued to pressure NCWU, however the visitors held off BC's attack in the final minutes to take the win.
The Tornados outshot NCWU 15-10 in the match, including a 7-3 advantage in the second half. Brevard also held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks and committed five less fouls than the Battling Bishops.
