FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Brevard College men's soccer team (4-2-2, 1-0-1 USA South) battled with host Methodist University (5-4-3, 2-1-1 USAS) in a conference matchup on Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Estevan Berto found the back of the net with an assist by senior
Ryan Lynch to tie the match in the 75th minute. The goal was the seventh in the career for Berto, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Lynch meanwhile recorded his 16th career assist to raise his school-record career points total to 102.
The dramatic equalizer came 60 minutes after a Methodist goal by Steven Floyd started the scoring in the 15th minute of the match. Â
Brevard outshot Methodist 10-6 for the match with several Tornados firing off shots. Lynch recorded a game-high three shots, while
Vitor Razera and
Luiz Pontes each registered two shots.Â

struck one shot on goal to go along with Berto's equalizer.
Matheus Rossi started and played all 90 minutes in goal for Brevard, recording one save as the BC defense held the Monarch attack at bay for the majority of the match. Methodist goalkeeper Trey Gohr recorded three saves.
Next up for Brevard is a trip to Buena Vista, Virginia to face Southern Virginia University in a conference match up. Kickoff is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9 at 4 p.m.Â
