WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Brevard College volleyball team (11-6, 3-4 USA South) dropped a four-setter to Salem College (14-4, 6-2 USAS) on Tuesday evening in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The two sides split the first two sets of the match before the Spirits pulled away with wins in the third and fourth sets.
Ashley Hoxit totaled a team-high 15 kills for the Tornados, while freshman Casey Wampler added 14. Izzy Boulay registered a double-double with 39 assists and 17 digs, while Makenna Parkins added eight kills. Bailey Lance recorded 16 digs, and Kylie Katcher added 13.
Aspen Bradley recorded a match-high 17 kills for the Spirits to lead the way. Leah Rymer dished out 41 assists and Anna Ryner added 17 digs on the defensive end.
Salem earned a tight first-set win 25-21 before Brevard stormed back with a 25-16 victory in the second set. Salem answered with a 25-20 set three win before dominating in the decisive fourth set, 25-12.
The Tornados return to action on Saturday at home, facing Meredith College at 11 a.m.
