SWANNANOA, N.C. - The Brevard College women's lacrosse team (2-1) cruised to an 18-10 victory over Warren Wilson College (1-2) in the third edition of the annual Ridge Rivalry matchup on Thursday afternoon in Swannanoa, North Carolina.

BC outscored Warren Wilson 16-6 through the first three quarters of action en route to the eight goal victory. Over the course of the three year rivalry history, BC has outscored WWC by a total of 63-29.

Sophomore attacker
Xan Hill scored a career-high seven goals and added four assists for an 11-point performance. Junior midfielder
Emily Denaga added five goals as the duo combined for 12 of Brevard's 18 scores.

Freshman
Arianna Casertano netted three goals, senior
Grace Vaught added two scores, and freshman
Madi Norris notched her first career goal and assist in the winning effort. Fellow freshman
Kelsey Hamrick dished out two assists and
Paige Kneubuhler added an assist and a team-high six ground balls, while Hill caused three turnovers. BC's freshman goalkeeper duo of
Amelia Fuentes and Kyla Smith Fondall (1-1) split duties in goal for the Tornados, combining for seven goals.

WWC's Sydney Weber scored nine of the hosts' 10 goals and won a total of 20 draw controls while also grabbing seven ground balls and an assist for 10 points. Gar Watlignton scored a goal as well.

BC dominated the shot total, 41-26, with a 39-17 edge in shots-on-target. Each team put in four free-position shots in the match.

Brevard is back in action at home on Monday, March 4, as the Tornados host Albion College at 6 p.m. at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
