BREVARD, N.C. - Junior midfielder Emily Denaga notched her 189th career point to break the Brevard College women's lacrosse career points record, while BC (7-5, 4-1 USA South) fell 20-3 to perennial USA South Conference powerhouse Meredith College (7-6, 4-1 USAS) on Saturday morning at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
Denaga, a junior from Buford, Georgia, already holds the career goals and draw controls records at BC, and added to her illustrious resume with two goals in Saturday's contest, surpassing Nina Siu (188 career points, 2015-18) for the career points record.
Denaga and Paige Kneubuhler accounted for BC's three goals in the contest, and Xan Hill recorded an assist. Kyla Smith-Fondall recorded nine saves and added eight ground balls, while Hill and Lex MacLauchlin each caused three turnovers.
Meredith was led by Reese Walker, who totaled four goals and five assists for a game-best nine points. Lauryn Turner and Ava Spradley each logged three goals and two assists for five points, and Kenzie Todd and Arrianna May also secured hat tricks.
The Tornados are back at home next Saturday, April 13 at 11 a.m., taking on Huntingdon College.
