Tornados Dominate Owls 10-1 in Swannanoa

Second-Most Goals Scored in Program History by Tornados on Tuesday

SWANNANOA, N.C. - A flurry of offensive production carried the Brevard College men's soccer team (1-1-1), as the Tornados exploded for 10 goals in a 10-1 victory over Warren Wilson College (0-4) on Tuesday evening at the Hank Steinbrechler Sports Complex in Swannanoa, North Carolina.

Brevard's 10 goals were the second most in single-game program history, trailing only its 11 goal performance in the Spring 2021 season opener vs. Southern Wesleyan University at home, where the Tornados defeated the Warriors 11-0 at Ives-Lemel Family Field.

BC opened the scoring up in the eighth minute when Jose Felipe Garces scored on an assist from Luiz Pontes. In the 22nd minute, Vitor Razera notched his third goal of the season on assists from Tom Dussauge and Ryan Lynch

Lynch scored an unassisted goal in the 30th minute to push the advantage up to 3-0. Less than two minutes later, Lynch scored his second goal of the game off a Jerick Moreno assist. Estevan Berto capped off the first half with his first goal of the season on assists from Moreno and Razera, as BC took a 5-0 lead to the half.

Caue dos Santos recorded his first goal of the season at the 56-minute mark, while Will Finney kept the offensive onslaught going with a 63rd-minute strike off an assist by Tiago Aguilar. Aguilar scored just three minutes later to make it an 8-0 ballgame, but Warren Wilson broke up the shutout in the 79th minute as Kevin Locklear found the back of the net on an assist from Benjamin Soto.

BC closed the contest out with two goals within the final 10 minutes of play. Aguilar scored his second of the match in the 82nd minute, while Julian Martin scored his first goal as a Tornado off Aguilar's second assist of the evening.

The Tornados hit the road to head to Lexington, Virginia and take on Washington and Lee University on Sunday at 1 p.m.
