MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Pfeiffer University defeated Brevard College 3-1 (18-25, 27-15, 25-15, 25-13) on Tuesday evening at Merner Gym.

The Tornados (6-20, 3-11 USA South) opened strong, taking the first set 25-18 behind an efficient .182 hitting percentage and balanced attack, but Pfeiffer (13-13, 7-7 USAS) regrouped to win the final three frames.

Sophomore
Caroline Moon led Brevard with 12 kills and and seven digs, while
Emma Fontana added nine kills and
Malahna Hoyle totaled eight.
Izzy Boulay contributed five kills and two aces, with 14 assists and seven digs, while
Madison Warren totaled 23 assists and a team-high 10 digs for a double-double. Libero
Kylie Katcher matched Warren with 10 digs defensively for the Tornados.

Pfeiffer was paced by Gabi Gama and Anasty Faavesi's 12 kills apiece, followed by Haedyn McGrath and Madison Tate who also reached double-digit kills with 11 each. Setter Karmen Rion orchestrated the offense with 29 assists helping the Falcons hit .239 as a team while totaling nine total blocks.

The Falcons, after trailing 1-0 in the match, battled back with a fierce set-two win over the Tornados, 27-25 to take the momentum of the match. Pfeiffer cruised in the final two sets, 25-15 and 25-13 to close out the 3-1 match win.

Brevard next travels to Staunton, Va. for a USA South Conference tri-match against Mary Baldwin (12 p.m.) and Methodist (2 p.m.) on Friday.
