BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College women's basketball team (7-3, 2-1 USA South) returned to winning ways with a dominant 90-58 triumph over Greensboro College (2-6, 0-3 USAS) on Tuesday evening at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
Brevard used a historic night on the glass to earn the complete team victory, as the Tornados controlled a program single-game record 80 rebounds with 28 offensive boards and 52 defensive caroms – all new single-game highs for BC women's basketball.
Senior forward
Olivia Miller led the charge on the glass with 17 rebounds (four offensive, 11 defensive), scoring 14 points on 7-of-11 from the field for her fourth double-double of 2025-26. Senior guard
Christena Rhone added 13 points and a career-best 11 rebounds for the first career double-double of the Morganton, N.C. native's career. Rhone hit three of BC's five total 3-pointers in the contest, and drilled all four of her free throw attempts as BC shot 13-of-15 as a unit at the charity stripe.
Five Tornados reached double figures in scoring, with
Jada Petty-Wilkins adding 13 points with five rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. Junior guard
Kennedie Noble surged for a career-high 12 points on six made field goals, and sophomore forward
Kayden Johnson registered her third double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Eleven different Tornados got on the scoresheet in the well-balanced effort, as the Tornados shot 41% from the field with 36 made field goals.
Brevard dominated in the painted area, scoring 58 of its 90 points down low. BC's bench accounted for 44 of its 90 points on the evening, while the Tornados created 23 second-chance points off their 28 offensive rebounds. Greensboro's press forced Brevard to commit a total of 30 turnovers, which the Pride turned into 25 points, but the Tornados were able to hold GC to a mere 23% mark from the field.
BC jumped out to a 19-8 advantage in the first period, as Greensboro made just four of its first 24 shot attempts. Brevard then outpaced GC by seven, 26-19, to take a 45-28 lead at the intermission. Brevard put the game on ice in the third period with a 28-10 scoring edge, holding the Pride to 3-of-21 from the field while the Tornados shot 50% at a 12-of-24 clip.
Brevard faces a quick turnaround, hosting Methodist on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at The Bosh. The contest marks BC's final regular-season matchup until the 2026 calendar year, with the Tornados competing in a pair of NCAA DI exhibitions over the holiday break.
