Tornados Cruise Past Pacers 101-83 on Senior Day

BC Honors Four Seniors Pregame

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's basketball team (12-9, 7-5 USA South) hit the century mark for the fourth time this season in a 101-83 Senior Day triumph over William Peace (3-19, 1-10 USAS) on Saturday afternoon at the Boshamer Gymnasium.

Senior guard KK Horton and freshman guard Twain Wilson each led the charge with 19 points apiece, as four Tornados scored double digits. Brevard, who currently leads the country in field goal percentage, aided its total with a 60.9% mark from the field. BC drained 13 3-pointers as well, the ninth time this season that the Tornados have made double-digit 3-pointers.

Horton stuffed the stat sheet on his Senior Day, adding five rebounds, four steals, and four assists. Wilson hit a team-high four 3-pointers and grabbed four boards in addition to his 19-point output - the 11th time that the freshman has reached double figures this season.

Charlie Hester added 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists, while Justen Goudelock posted 10 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting from the field with five rebounds.

Graduate student Jeremy Posner hit three 3-pointers for nine points, while Brennan Wansley put up eight points and four rebounds. Eleven total Tornados got into the scoring column.

William Peace kept up with Brevard thanks to a grand total of 16 made 3-pointers in the contest, but the Pacers only converted their field goals at a 43.9% clip. Brevard held slight edges in rebounds (35-31) and assists (23-20), but dominated points in the paint by a 46-22 margin while BC's bench outpaced WPU's 52-29.

The Pacers used their hot shooting from beyond the arc to keep up with Brevard's high-efficient offensive output, as the Tornados took a 49-44 advantage into the second half of play. The Tornados used a quick 12-2 run to pull ahead by 15, and Brevard didn't look back from that point forward, cruising to the 18-point victory.

Seniors Hester, Horton, Drew Smith - alongside graduate guard Posner - were all honored in a special pre-game ceremony.

The Tornados are back on the road on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., taking on Greensboro.
