BREVARD, N.C. – Senior guard Josie Hester earned the final USA South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award of the 2024-25 campaign after a huge individual week that helped the Brevard College women's basketball team finish the regular season 2-0 and finish second place in the USA South standings.
 
Hester, a second-year Tornado from Huntersville, North Carolina, averaged 22.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.5 assists per game as the Tornados posted a 2-0 record last week against Conference foes. In a 74-61 victory at Pfeiffer, Hester totaled 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals. In a 74-67 win at N.C. Wesleyan, Hester scored 29 points with eight rebounds, three steals, and two steals.
 
Hester hit the 1,000-point mark in her collegiate career in last Saturday's victory at NC Wesleyan, and her 29-point performance marked the eight time in 2024-25 that she scored 20 or more points in a game. In the win at Pfeiffer, Hester drained her 74^th made 3-pointer of the season to set a new BC NCAA-era record for single-season 3-pointers made.
 
The BC WBB squad is primed for its first round matchup tomorrow, as the second-seeded Tornados will take on #7 Greensboro on Tuesday, February 25 at 6 p.m. inside of the Boshamer Gymnasium.
