Hudson Tabbed Coach of the Year and Johnson Named Defensive Player of the Year as Tornados Secure Seven Postseason Honors

BREVARD, N.C. - Brevard College Women's Basketball secured seven total postseason accolades from the USA South Conference, as the league announced its All-Conference honorees.

Sophomore forward Kayden Johnson secured the program's first-ever USA South Defensive Player of the Year selection, while 10th-year Head Coach Donald Hudson was voted as the league's Coach of the Year. Senior forward Olivia Miller was named to the All-Conference First Team, with Johnson alongside senior guard Jada Petty-Wilkins securing All-Conference Second Team accolades. Sophomore guard Analee Morris secured All-Conference Honorable Mention, and junior guard Kennedie Noble represented BC women's basketball on the All-Sportsmanship squad.

Coach Hudson is the first coach in Brevard women's basketball history to be named USA South Coach of the Year. After being predicted to finish second in the standings in the preseason coaches poll, the Tornados did one better, capturing a share of the program's first regular-season crown. Brevard won its final seven conference contests to end the regular season with a 16-2 USA South record, the program's best mark since joining the league in 2017-18. Overall, the Tornados amassed a 21-4 record during regular season play, which is the most wins since Brevard joined the NCAA in 2007-08.

Johnson, a sophomore forward from Statesville, North Carolina, becomes the first Brevard women's basketball student-athlete to be named USA South Defensive Player of the Year. During regular-season play, Johnson led the conference with 37 blocked shots, good for an average of 1.3 per contest. She also added 11.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. In Conference play, Johnson again led the way in rejections with 32 total, good for a 1.8 blocks per game average. For her efforts this season, Johnson was named All-Conference Second Team while also picking up one USA South Player of the Week accolade.

Miller, a senior from Hudson, N.C., earns the first All-Conference first team selection of her collegiate career, and her third overall All-Conference honor from the USA South. She has led the Tornados in both scoring (13.6 ppg) and rebounding (8.9 rpg) while also dishing out a team-high 86 assists. Miller has hit her field goal attempts at a 58.2% clip in 2025-26 and has recorded a grand total of nine double-doubles this year. Over her three seasons with Brevard, Miller has scored 849 points with 442 rebounds, 190 assists, 126 steals, and 46 blocks.

Petty-Wilkins, a senior guard from Tryon, N.C., earns All-Conference Second Team accolades for the second-consecutive season. The sharpshooter has drilled 49 3-pointers in 2025-26, and 143 over the course of her Tornado career, scoring a total of 831 points at Brevard. Petty-Wilkins has also been a force on the defensive end, leading all Tornados with 75 steals this year.

Morris, a second-year guard from Rockmart, Georgia, secures her first collegiate All-Conference accolade. The sophomore ranks second on the squad with 13.3 points per game, has drilled 41 3-pointers, and is fresh off a BC NCAA-era single-game record 39 points in the first round of the USA South Tournament.

Noble, a junior from Newton, N.C., was selected as BC's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team. Averaging 5.3 points in 17..1 minutes per contest, Noble has scored double figures twice this season, including a career-high 17 at Salem
