BREVARD, N.C. – Senior Michael Peters matched his career high with five goals, but the Brevard College men's lacrosse team (2-8, 0-3 USA South) fell behind early in a 21-7 defeat to LaGrange College (1-4, 1-2 USAS) on a sunny Friday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
 
Peters, a native of Belmont, North Carolina, matched his career-best mark set earlier this season at Warren Wilson by finding the back of the net five times on Friday. Peters also snagged a team-high sic ground balls.
 
Gage Khayat and Matt Smith also scored for BC, while Brice Peterson dished out two assists. Freshman Joseph Piazza also recorded an assist for the Tornados.
 
Adam Jones, Nicholas Murciano, and Aiden Psalmonds all scored five goal apiece, with Jones adding two assists for seven points. Tristan Cuda dominated the faceoff circle, winning 18 faceoffs and grabbing 18 total ground balls.
 
The Panthers out-shot Brevard 51-22, including a 32-17 mark in shots-on-goal. LaGrange doubled up BC on ground balls, 60-30, and converted four out of six power play chances.
 
LaGrange opened up an 8-1 edge in the first period, and added three goals in the second quarter to hold a nine-goal edge, 11-2 at the intermission. A 6-1 margin in the third period left the Panthers on top 17-3, and each side scored four times in the fourth and final quarter.

The Tornados are next in action on Tuesday, March 25 at 5 p.m., as BC travels to Demorest, Georgia to face Piedmont University.
