ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Brevard College softball team (7-14, 3-7 USA South) dropped a pair of games via run rule to North Carolina Wesleyan (19-13, 7-3 USAS) on Saturday afternoon.
BC dropped game one 9-1 in five innings before falling 8-0 in a six-inning decision to cap the doubleheader off.
Game one saw the Tornados jump out to a 1-0 lead early after Alyssa Boris drove in Analee Morris with an RBI groundout. However, that was all the offense Brevard would muster in the contest as NCW scored nine runs unanswered to take the win.
Morris notched the lone hit of the ballgame for the Tornados and scored BC's run.
In game two, the Tornados were yet again held to just one hit, and were held off the scoreboard for the duration of the contest. NCW scored five in the first thanks to a three-run homer and a two-RBI single, put two up in the third, and capped the game off with a run-rule walk-off single in the sixth.
Gabby Hopper notched Brevard's lone hit in the second game.
BC returns home for Senior Day on Friday, April 18, as the Tornados host William Peace in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
