RALEIGH, N.C. – Senior midfielder
Emily Denaga eclipsed the 200-career goal mark as the Brevard College women's lacrosse team sets its sights on its third-consecutive appearance in the USA South Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament.
The Tornados (7-7, 5-4 USA South) fell 25-3 on Friday afternoon to USA South regular season champion Meredith College (15-2, 9-0 USAS) in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Meredith opened up a 16-1 advantage before outscoring BC 9-2 in the second half en route to the victory.
Denaga scored twice for the Tornados, while
Xan Hill added a goal and two assists.
Kyla Smith-Fondall made eight saves and added seven ground balls for Brevard.
The Tornados have secured the five-seed in the upcoming USA South Tournament, and will face Southern Virginia on Saturday, April 26 in Buena Vista, Virginia in the first round.
