BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College softball team (8-17, 4-10 USA South) fell twice via run rule to second-place Greensboro College (27-9, 12-2 USAS), 10-1 and 10-0, on a sunny Monday afternoon at the BC Softball Field.
 
The Pride scored seven combined runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take a nine-run triumph in game one, and used a six-run third inning in game two to finish the sweep off.
   
Following a one-out triple, the Pride used back-to-back RBI singles to take a 2-0 lead in game one. GC plated one in the second, and surged for three runs in the top of the fourth inning. Deana McMinn capitalized on a fourth-inning double by Regan Winkler and drove Anna Graves in with a sacrifice fly that cut the deficit to five, but Greensboro answered with four-run fifth to take a commanding nine-run margin.
 
Emily Husband notched a scoreless inning in relief for the Tornados in game one. Addison Smith went 2-for-2 with a double, with Rylee Locklear and Winkler also logging doubles as well.
   
The Pride slugged their way to a 10-run win in game two, hitting two home runs - a two-run shot and a three-run round-tripper - as part of a six-run third inning. A two-RBI double in the top of the fourth capped off GC's offensive surge, with the Pride totaling 13 total hits in game two and 25 hits on the day.
 
Gabby Hooper, Analee Morris, Smith, and Winkler recorded singles in game two for Brevard.
 
BC will close its 2025 regular season out with a road trip to Misenheimer, North Carolina to face nationally-ranked Pfeiffer on Saturday at 1 p.m., and the home finale is slated for Sunday at 1 p.m. at the BC Softball Field.
