BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College women's soccer team (3-0-0) outshot Piedmont University (4-2-0) 24-to-6 en route to a dominant 2-0 victory on Wednesday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
The victory extended Brevard's current unbeaten streak to 21 consecutive matches, dating back to the end of the 2023 season. BC also successfully defended its home field yet again, extending its home unbeaten streak to 20 matches dating to October 15, 2022.
The first half elapsed with the Tornados holding a 12-to-2 advantage in total shots, but Piedmont was able to keep Brevard off the scoresheet through the first 45 minutes.

Kinlee Mozley finished off a stellar attacking opportunity to give Brevard the one-goal lead.
Mikayla Zvekan, a senior from Draper, Utah, ripped a shot off the crossbar and Mozley put in the rebound. Zvekan notched her 19
th career assist on the play, moving her into the lead for NCAA-era career assists at BC.
Following the first goal of the contest, BC continued to apply pressure to the Lion defense with scoring chances. Brevard broke through again in the 62
nd minute of play, as the Tornados capitalized off a Lion yellow card.
Schuyler Pettibone, a senior defender from Raleigh, North Carolina in her first season at BC, fired a shot off the free kick and powered it past the Piedmont keeper to double Brevard's lead.
Brevard's stellar defensive play and gritty midfield work continued to stifle the Piedmont offense the rest of the way, as the Tornados kept the Lions off the scoresheet for the entirety of the contest.
The result marks BC's third shutout already of the young 2025 campaign, and Brevard's 15
th clean sheet in its last 21 matches.
Abby Nunez earned the win with a three-save shutout, as the junior from Homestead, Florida also took four shot attempts off free kicks for BC.
The Tornados are back at home this weekend, facing Averett University at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday as part of a soccer doubleheader at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
