SALEM, Va. - The Brevard College men's soccer team (0-2-1) fell 4-1 to Roanoke College (2-0-0) on Saturday afternoon at Donald J. Kerr Stadium in Salem, Virginia.
The Maroons were sparked by a hat trick from forward Carter Laatsch. Cameron Viator scored a goal off the bench for the Maroons, while Parker Laatsch and Ryan Pidgeon distributed assists.
Enrique Sosa found the back of the net for the Tornados in the 58th minute of action, marking the first goal of the season for the sophomore from Asuncion, Paraguay.
Roanoke held a 22-9 shot advantage, with a dominant 17-5 margin in the second half. Tom Perceval-Smith got the start in goal for the Tornados, recording three total saves. The hosts had a 7-5 edge on corner kicks as well.
Brevard will open its 2025 home schedule up next Saturday, September 13 at 2 p.m. against Centre College at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
