STAUNTON, Va. - The Brevard College women's basketball team (10-3, 5-1 USA South) outscored Mary Baldwin (2-9, 1-4 USAS) 54-10 in the second half to pick up its fourth victory in a row with a dominant 87-37 triumph on Tuesday afternoon.
Leading by a score of 33-27 at the halftime intermission, BC pulled away quickly with a 34-3 third quarter that essentially put the win away. The victory marks BC's third victory by 30 points or more in 2025-26, and the sixth win by 20 points or more for the Tornados this season.
Four Tornados starters reached double figures, led by senior Jada Petty-Wilkins who scored 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting with four made 3-pointers, four free throws, five rebounds, and five steals.
Analee Morris added 15 points with three made 3-pointers and grabbed seven boards, while Olivia Miller posted 14 points, shot 7-of-10 from the field, and totaled eight rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and three steals. Kayden Johnson rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Aleysha Hill added a season-high eight points and four assists.
In BC's dominant third quarter of action, the Tornados went 13-of-21 (62%) from the field with four made 3-pointers to score 34 points. Overall, Brevard shot 50% from the field, hit 10 threes, scored 42 points in the paint, put back 21 second chance points, scored 37 points off turnovers, and scored 18 points in transition in the overall dominant effort.
BC returns home on Saturday at 2 p.m. to face William Peace for the second time in 2025-26, closing the season series at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
