CHARLOTTE - The Brevard College women's soccer team (7-1-2) fell for the first time in 2026, dropping a 2-0 decision to JWU Charlotte (4-2-2) on Thursday evening at OrthoCarolina Sports Field.
The Wildcats took the victory, using a 22nd minute strike and adding insurance to their lead with a goal in the 86th minute of action.
The Tornados fell despite dominating the shot total, 17-7. BC found the target 10 times, but all attempts were denied by JWU keeper Zoe Balmer, who preserved the clean sheet.
Carissa Jenkins led all Tornados with four total shot attempts, while Kate Floyd, Jenkins, and Maddy Loranger all took two shots on target in the contest. All told, 19 different Tornados saw action in the contest.
Brevard returns to USA South Conference action on Saturday at 3 p.m. as the Tornados travel to Raleigh, North Carolina to face Meredith.
