Offensive Showcase for BC in 16-5 Midweek Home Win

BREVARD, N.C. - Eleven different Brevard College baseball batters recorded hits, 11 different runners came across to score, nine Tornados drove in runs, and BC registered its most amount of hits in a single game since 2024 as the Tornados (4-0) handled Guilford (0-1), 16-5 in seven innings on Wednesday afternoon at Gil Coan Field. 

Brevard scored 17 runs on 19 hits, recording its most single-game hits since April 27, 2024. With the victory, BC has won its first four games of the season for the first time since 2022. 

Six Tornados had multiple hits in the game, led by a pair of 3-for-4 efforts by Tyson Hinkle and Lucas Woodard. Woodard drills a two-RBI double, totaling three RBI in the contest, while Hinkle drove in two runs an scored once. 

Davis Anders, a first-year Tornado transfer, knocked his first home run of his BC career out of the yard, finishing 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Hunter Busque, Tyler Kelson, and Gavin McCoy all had multi-hit games, with Nico Bartolotti, Busque, Kelson, and Kacey Shanks recording doubles in the contest. 

Brevard was lethal on the basepaths once again, as the Tornados racked up six stolen bases to match their season high. First-year Tornado Tegin Hedrick logged the first base hit and RBI of his collegiate career as well. 

Jonah Campbell made his first collegiate start, working two innings with three hits and two runs allowed. Gage Granata (1-0) secured his first win of the season with a pair of innings, allowing a run with a strikeout. Making his collegiate debut, Stash Spear struck out three batters in two scoreless innings of work. Jackson Weglage also made his collegiate debut for the Tornados, finishing the game off in the seventh inning. 

Brevard is currently scheduled to take the field next on Saturday at noon for a doubleheader against Berea.
