Tornados Drop Conference Bout in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro (2-6, 1-2 USA South) used a balanced scoring attack and a decisive second quarter to pull away from Brevard (2-4, 1-1 USAS) in a 15- 3 USA South Conference matchup at Pride Field.
 
Brevard struck first when Xan Hill scored unassisted 2:36 into the game, but Greensboro responded with three goals in the opening quarter and never trailed again. Hill added her second goal early in the third quarter to lead the Tornados, while Arianna Casertano accounted for Brevard's other score.
 
Greensboro built a 9-2 halftime advantage behind six first-half goals from Sydney Patton, who finished with a game-high six goals. Keira Fenyo added four goals and two assists, and KP Pageot totaled three goals and two assists for the Pride.
 
Brevard goalkeeper Kyla Smith-Fondall made 16 saves while facing heavy pressure, as Greensboro held a 42-9 advantage in shots and controlled 13 draw controls.
 
BC returns home on Saturday at 11 a.m. to face Huntingdon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
