DEMOREST, Ga. - The Brevard College softball team (8-10) competed in the final non-conference doubleheader of the season, falling 9-1 and 7-5 to Piedmont (11-7) on Wednesday afternoon at the Walker Athletic Complex. 

Piedmont scored multiple runs in innings 1-3 to shoot past the Tornados in game one. The hosts jumped out to an early 3-0 margin through three innings, but the Tornados stormed back with a five-run top of the fourth. The Lions withstood the Tornado surge, scoring the last four runs of the game for the 7-5 triumph and doubleheader sweep. 

Regan Winkler went 2-for-2 with an RBI double in game one, while Hayden Moody scored a run and added a single. BC freshman duo of Kali Panaccione and Emma Payne each went 2-for-3, with Panaccione logging two RBI and Payne securing a double. Andrea Furr, Rylee Locklear, Addie MacDougall, Analee Morris, and Winkler also recorded base hits in the nine-hit effort for the Tornados. 

In the circle, Elizabeth Auciello, Emily Husband, and Victoria Phagan all got work in the DH .

BC competes in its USA South Conference opener this Saturday at 1 p.m. vs. Meredith in Raleigh, N.C.
