Successful Weekend in Macon for BC Softball

Tornados Take Three of Four in Weekend Trip

MACON, Ga. – The Brevard College softball team (6-4) secured three wins in four tries in a weekend full of action at the Wesleyan College Softball Field on Saturday and Sunday.

Brevard dropped Berea, 9-0, in a neutral-site showdown to kick action off on Saturday. The Tornados and host Wolves then battled in extra innings, with the hosts securing a walk-off winner, 4-3, in eight innings. The Tornados answered back, picking up a pair of wins on Sunday in run-rule fashion over host Wesleyan.

GAME ONE: BREVARD 9, BEREA 0 (5 INNINGS)

The Tornados kicked the weekend off with a dominant 9-0 effort over Berea in a five-inning run-rule effort. Andrea Furr, Hayden Moody, and Emma Payne all collected multiple hits, with Alyssa Boris coming around to score three times on the basepaths.

Freshman pitcher Victoria Phagan hurled a complete-game shutout, tossing five innings, allowing just three hits with no runs and a pair of strikeouts. The effort marked her second complete game of 2026.

GAME TWO: WESLEYAN 4, BREVARD 3 (8 INNINGS)

The Tornados and host Wolves competed in an instant classic in the second game on Saturday, with Wesleyan taking the narrow 4-3 decision in extra innings. Down to its final out in the top of the seventh, the Tornados took advantage of an error as Anna Graves came across to score the game-tying run to extend the contest. A walk-off single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth gave the Wolves the win to close out action on Saturday.

Furr went 2-for-2 in the contest, while seven different Tornados collected base hits. Elizabeth Auciello was in the circle for seven-plus innings for the Tornados.

GAME THREE: BREVARD 8, WESLEYAN 0 (5 INNINGS)

The visiting Tornados secured their first of two run-rule Sunday victories with a dominant 8-0 effort over Wesleyan in game one of the doubleheader.

Junior pitcher Megan Bint secured her first win in the circle as a Tornado with a five-inning complete-game shutout, allowing just one hit and two walks with a pair of strikeouts.

Brevard's offense was stellar in the first game of the twin bill, as four different Tornados had multiple hits in the eight-run effort. Furr went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, while Payne was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI. Addie MacDougall and Regan Winkler also had 2-for-3 efforts at the dish, and Moody ripped an RBI double.

GAME FOUR: BREVARD 10, WESLEYAN 0 (5 INNINGS)

A massive seven-run fifth inning led to BC's third win of the weekend, as the Tornados surged past the Wolves in the series finale. Brevard plated seven runs with six hits to surpass the run-rule threshold and decisively end the weekend.

The Tornados recorded double-digit hits for the third time in 2026 with their 13-hit effort, and 10 runs matches the season high.

Winkler led the charge in the weekend finale with a perfect 4-for-4 effort at the plate, totaling two doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI. Furr, Moody, and Kali Panaccione all had multiple hits, with seven total Tornados collecting base knocks.

Auciello (3-2) secured the complete-game shutout, allowing just four hits with a strikeout to subdue the Wolves.

Brevard kicks off its Spring Break trip this coming week, competing in six total games at the 2026 Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.
