ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Tornados returned to the track over the weekend, heading to the Asheville Bulldog Invitational, continuing the momentum they've built throughout the season.
Brevard got going on Friday in the women's 100m hurdles, as
Elizabeth Foster led BC in 11th with a season best 17.48 mark, followed by
Katie Woody, posting a personal best 18.77 to finish 13th.
Jaxsen Wilkerson led Brevard in the men's 110m hurdles, finishing eighth at 16.02.
Akeelah Hurley paced Brevard in the women's 200m, finishing 16th with a personal best 26.52.
Serenity Jordan followed in 18th with a personal best 26.60, and
Imani Singleton also set a new personal mark with a 27.11 mark to finish 21st. On the men's side,
Zyrell Abercrombie finished 43rd at 23.45, followed by
Jeffrey McDougald in 45th at 23.94 and
Develle Morgan in 48th at 24.38.
Owen Plucar set a new personal best in the men's 1500m, finishing 18th at 4:11.54.
Adin DeJesus followed in 32nd with a personal best 4:40.23.
Brevard concluded Friday's action on the track in the men's 5000m, with
Ethan Carlan logging a new personal best to finish in 20th at 16:27.98. Shea Grainger followed in 24th at 16:48.18.
Brevard's Friday field presence began with the men's hammer throw, where
Hank Tarte impressed with a fifth-place finish, producing a personal best 44.61m throw.
Cameron Eubanks followed in tenth at 41.63m,
Antonio King placed 11th at 40.96m, and
Donningtun Walters placed 16th at 39.36m.
Imani Singleton was Brevard's lone competitor in the women's long jump, placing seventh with a 4.94m jump.
Noah Osuji led the men with a tenth-place finish, producing a 6.17m jump.
Brevard closed out Friday in the men's javelin, where Jaxsen Wilkersen finished eighth with a 40.36m mark.
Saturday's events started with the men's 4x100m relay, where the team of
Zyrell Abercrombie,
Jeffrey McDougald,
Reggie Taylor II, and
Develle Morgan set a season best with a 44.34 mark to finish fifth.
Serenity Jordan was the lone representative for BC in the women's 400m, finishing 14th with a personal best 1:01.50.
Molly Perry finished 23rd in the women's 800m, crossing at 2:42.81.
Owen Plucar led the men in the 800m, posting a personal best 1:57.37 to finish 11th. Shea Grainger followed in 26th, also setting a personal best at 2:07.52. He was shortly followed by
Ethan Carlan, finishing 28th with a personal best 2:10.28, and
Adin DeJesus in 29th at 2:10.97.
The Tornados wrapped up the track events with the men's 4x400m relay, with the team of
Tyrell Bailey,
Zyrell Abercrombie,
Jeffrey McDougald, and
Owen Plucar finishing fifth at 3:39.02.
Brevard started the Saturday field events in the women's discus, with
Tori Gates finishing 18th with a 22.81m mark, followed by
Anne Herring in 20th at 20.32m.
Antonio King led the Tornados in the men's discus, finishing 12th at 40.48m.
Cameron Eubanks followed in 13th at 40.19m, shortly joined by
Donningtun Walters in 15th at 39.06m and
Hank Tarte in 23rd at 36.57m.
Imani Singleton was BC's lone representative in the women's triple jump, placing ninth at 10.29m.
Tyrell Bailey impressed on the men's side, finishing second at 14.20m.
Ty Breeze followed in seventh with a 13.71m mark, and
Noah Osuji finished 14th at 12.09m.
In the women's shot put,
Anne Herring finished 19th at 8.92m and
Tori Gates followed in 21st at 7.87m.
Cameron Eubanks led the Tornados on the men's side to round out the weekend, finishing fourth at 14.21m, shortly followed by
Noah Westbrook in sixth at 13.98m.
Donningtun Walters placed 15th at 12.19m, joined by
Antonio King in 16th at 12.07m.
