BREVARD, N.C. - In part of Brevard College's continued partnership with UNC Health Pardee, BC Athletics is thrilled to announce that Kayla Fear has joined the Sports Medicine team as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at BC. Fear begins her first year with the Tornados on August 1.

Dr. Myranda Crews. "Pardee's continued passion for the health and well-being of our student-athletes has been paramount throughout this partnership, and we are excited to continue this relationship."
Fear brings a diverse background of collegiate, secondary school, and clinical athletic training experience to the position. She most recently served as a Clinical Primary Assistant with Prisma Health Steadman Hawkins Orthopedic Clinic after working as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Limestone University, where she provided care for football, women's lacrosse, and men's and women's tennis programs.
"I'm very excited to be joining the Brevard College family," added Fear. "A few years ago, my husband and I drove by campus and were talking about how much we would like to live in this area. I told him, 'I'd love to work at this school. Looking back on that day feels bittersweet now, and I'm eager to get started, meet everyone, and support the athletes in every way I can."
Prior to her time at Limestone, Fear held roles with the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute as a Clinical Assistant Team Lead and at Maine South High School as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, gaining valuable experience in both clinical and secondary school settings. She also served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lindsey Wilson College, where she worked with a wide range of sports, including soccer, swimming, bowling, track and field, and cross country.
Fear began her professional career as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Olivet Nazarene University, where she provided care for men's soccer, baseball, and tennis while completing her master's degree. Fear earned her master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University and her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training and Exercise Science from Florida Southern College. She is Board of Certification (BOC) certified, along with CPR and First Aid certifications.
