BREVARD, N.C. - Todd Crawford is joining the Brevard College Track & Field coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant Track & Field Coach, announced Director of Track & Field Matthew Jelley. Crawford has built an impressive resume at the club, high school and international levels, developing athletes across the jumps, throws, hurdles and relay disciplines while fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion and long-term athlete development.
 
"To say the I am extremely excited about this opportunity to coach at the NCAA collegiate level is an understatement," commented Crawford. "After a 25 year-plus high school career as a coach and educator, Coach Jelley was gracious enough to consider me for this opportunity. "The entire Brevard community, from the Athletics Department and college administration to the grounds crew who do such an outstanding job maintaining our beautiful campus, has gone above and beyond to make this opportunity a reality. I am excited to see what we can accomplish together moving forward."
 
Most recently, Crawford has served as Head Coach of the Quinte Frontenac / Quinte Legion Track Club since 2021, where he designed and implemented specialized training programs that produced multiple Ontario and National Age Group medalists. He also spent 17 years leading the track & field programs at Moira Trojans and Eastside Ravens, helping numerous student-athletes qualify for regional and provincial championships while creating opportunities for athletes of all ability levels to succeed.
 
"Coach Crawford's experience and excitement really stood out to me in the interview process," stated Coach Jelley. "His years of training and motivating athletes will be a huge asset to our current and future program. We are really excited to welcome him to Brevard."
 
In addition to his track & field background, Crawford gained valuable international coaching experience as head coach of the Canadian U19 Women's Floorball Team, guiding the program to silver medals at the 2014 and 2016 World Under-20 Championships.
 
A lifelong educator, Crawford has served with the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board since 1999, teaching health and physical education while advocating for health, fitness and safe sport initiatives. His background also includes certifications through Athletics Ontario, Athletics Canada and the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), along with extensive experience in recruiting, event management, athlete evaluation and program development.
 
Crawford was a standout collegiate athlete, competing at the NCAA Division I level at Drake University. During his collegiate career, he captured three Missouri Valley Conference championships in the triple jump, long jump and 4x100-meter relay, earning the Allan S. Graham Award as Drake's Outstanding Field Performer.
