Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College women's soccer team was unable to defeat their South Atlantic Conference adversary on Saturday as they fell 1-0 to Newberry. With the loss the Tornados fell to 3-12-1 and 1-7-0 in SAC play this season.

In the first half, Brevard was outshot 9-3 without being able to get any great offensive opportunities. The Wolves took four corners in the first half, but neither team was able to find the net as the match was tied at zero heading into half.

It wasn't until the 66th minute that the tie was broken by Newberry. Amberly Fowler took a shot from 20 yards out that was just out of reach of Crissy Moran (Franklin County, Va.). Fowler took a pass from Lora Moore to set-up the only goal of the match.

Moran played all 90 minutes in goal for Brevard. She was able to make seven saves after being shot-on 19 times in the game.

The women head to Dahlonega, Georgia to face-off with North Georgia on Wednesday, October 27th. Game-time is set for 3:30 p.m.
