AIKEN, S.C.- The Brevard College women's soccer team allowed three second half goals to fall to USC-Aiken, 3-0, Tuesday night at Pacer Pit in Aiken, S.C.
USC-Aiken improved to 3-2 on the young season and extended its success against BC by winning its fourth consecutive match against the Tornados. BC dropped to 3-2 on the season and was shutout for the first time this season.
Following a scoreless first half, the Pacers fired 11 shots on BC goalkeeper Brittany Webster in the second half and after a Jenna Beauregard shot hit the crossbar, Megan Smits found herself wide open and netted USC-Aiken's first goal in the 53rd minute.
Leading 1-0, the Pacers' Aubrey Danielson bested Webster with a shot that came from right to left to extend the lead in the 79th minute.
The Pacers sealed the victory with a goal in the 86th minute by Deirdre Ball while Beauregard picked up her second assist on the match.
USC-Aiken outshot the Tornados, 19-9, including 11-5 in the second half. Webster finished the day with five saves while Yuki Soga, Megan Jenkins and Kaitlin Burns amassed two shots a piece.
The Tornados return to action when they open South Atlantic Conference play against Queens on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Brevard Soccer Field in Brevard, N.C.
