MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Brevard College men's tennis team (0-3) dropped a Fall team match, 8-1 to host Pfeiffer University on Sunday afternoon in Misenheimer, North Carolina.

Highlighting the day for the Tornado men's team was a three-set victory by BC's Troy Broska in number four singles.  Broska fell 6-4 in the first set, creating a must-win scenario in set number two. Broska delivered with a 7-6 tiebreaker win in the second set to force a third set.  The freshman from Estanollee, Georgia then prevailed with a thrilling 12-10 win in the third set tiebreaker to take the match.

 

Like Broska, Ethan McGee also took his opponent to three sets in an exciting match in number two singles. Dropping set one 6-4, McGee cruised to a 6-1 win in the second set. McGee, however, fell short in the third set tiebreaker, 10-7.

 

Pfeiffer swept Brevard in doubles play and won the remaining singles competitions to take the team win.

 

Christian Rogerson and Jackson Ray were defeated 8-2 in number one doubles, while McGee and Andrew Ingram fell 8-4 in no. 2 doubles. Broska and JaMarcus Walker battled in number three singles before falling 8-5 to the third Falcons doubles team.

 

The Brevard College Men's Tennis team will return to action with its conclusion to the Fall portion of the 2019-20 schedule with a home match vs. Emory & Henry at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
