Brevard College Baseball Releases 2024 Schedule

2024 Slate Highlighted by 18 Home Contests, 21 Games Within USA South Conference

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College baseball program has announced its upcoming 2024 schedule of competitions. The Tornados will host a total of 18 contests at Gil Coan Field, and a total of 21 matchups will be within USA South Conference play.
 
"The whole group is excited to get going this Spring," commented Head Coach Mike Victory, who enters his fifth season at the helm of BC Baseball. "We will have some familiar faces and some new ones in our non-conference schedule. Our guys are looking to be challenged and everyone on this schedule will push us to be our best."
 
The season kicks off on Saturday, February 10 when the Tornados host former USA South foe Averett University for a doubleheader at 12 and 3 p.m., followed by the opening series finale on Sunday, February 11 at 1 p.m. This marks the second-consecutive season that the Tornados have opened up playing the Cougars.
 
BC hits the road to face another familiar former USA South institution, LaGrange College with a doubleheader in LaGrange, Georgia set for Saturday, February 17 at 2 and 5 p.m. The series caps off with a single contest on Sunday, February 18 at 2 p.m. The Tornados return home to face Oberlin College for the first time in program history on Saturday, February 24 at 12 and 3 p.m., followed by a Sunday, February 25 matchup at 12 p.m. at Gil Coan Field.
 
Brevard opens March up with a trip to Greensboro, North Carolina to take on Guilford College in a twin bill on Saturday, March 2 at 12 and 3 p.m. before concluding the three-game set on Sunday, March 3 at 1 p.m. BC's non-conference schedule ends by playing its third former USA South opponent of the season when Berea College comes to town for a three-game series beginning on Saturday, March 9 at 12 and 3 p.m. and wrapping up on Sunday, March 10 at 1 p.m.
 
The 2024 USA South Conference schedule kicks off at home for the Tornados, who will play host to Southern Virginia University on Friday, March 15 at 3 p.m. before facing the Knights twice on Saturday, March 16 at 12 and 3 p.m. BC then travels to Misenheimer, North Carolina to take on Pfeiffer University with a twin billing on Saturday, March 23 at 1 and 4 p.m. The conference set concludes with a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday, March 24. The month of March wraps up with a trip to Rocky Mount, North Carolina to take on North Carolina Wesleyan University in a single game on Friday, March 29 at 6 p.m., followed by two contests on Saturday, March 30 at 12 and 3 p.m.
 
April kicks off at home for the Tornados, as Brevard hosts Methodist University on Saturday, April 6 at 1 and 4 p.m. followed by a Sunday, April 7 meeting at 1 p.m. at Gil Coan Field. Brevard will then head to High Point, North Carolina to take on Greensboro College in a three-game series hosted at the home of the Atlantic League's High Point Rockers – Truist Point. BC takes on the Pride in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 13 at 3 and 6 p.m., followed by the series finale on Sunday, April 14 at 1 p.m.
 
Brevard returns home for Senior weekend in the final homestand of the regular season as the Tornados take on William Peace University on Saturday, April 20 at 3 p.m. before a Sunday, April 21 doubleheader at 1 and 4 p.m. The regular season concludes for the Tornados on Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28, when BC heads to Staunton, Virginia to match up with Mary Baldwin University in a Saturday doubleheader at 1 and 4 p.m. followed by the regular season finale Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
The 2024 USA South Conference Baseball Tournament is scheduled to take place with two first round three-team tournaments, Thursday-Saturday May 2-4, with a best-of-three championship series taking place on Friday and Saturday, May 10-11.
 
BC enjoyed one of the most successful seasons in the program's 15-year NCAA history in 2023, as the Tornados finish with 20-plus (22) wins for the second-consecutive season and earned the first two playoff wins in program NCAA-era history.
