BREVARD, N.C. – A program-record four Brevard College football student-athletes have been selected for five spots on the annual D3football.com All-Region 3 Team. The honors are BC's first since it earned three selections in the Fall of 2021.
Junior defensive lineman
Robert Dorsey becomes the first-ever BC football representative on the All-Region 3 First Team, while
Zackary Orr also made BC history by becoming the first Tornado to be represented in two different positions (wide receiver, returner), garnering All-Region Second Team honors.
James Woods joined Orr on the All-Region 3 Second Team, while graduate running back
Chancellor Lee-Parker rounded out the honors with a spot on the All-Region 3 Third Team.
Dorsey, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, became the second Tornado to earn USA South football Defensive Player of the Year honors (Steffon Canady, 2021) as a result of his stellar play in 2024. Over the regular season, Dorsey led the conference with 11.5 sacks which resulted in a loss of 71 yards. This was a part of 14 total tackles for loss which also was the best amount in the league. Dorsey was tied for the USA South-high with three forced fumbles to go along with seven quarterback hurries. For Dorsey during league-play, he was tied for the conference-lead in sacks with six and totaled eight total tackles for loss. Dorsey earned First Team All-Conference honors as a defensive lineman for the second consecutive season and grabbed USA South Defensive Player of the Week honors once. Dorsey's 11.5 sacks matched a single-season school record as well (Canady, 2021). The second-year Tornado will now be eligible for D3football.com All American consideration, and is also up for All-American consideration by the Associated Press in 2024.
Orr, a graduate wide receiver from Charleston, South Carolina, becomes the first Tornado ever to garner All-Region accolades at two different positions in the same season. Earlier, Orr became only the second Tornado ever to garner All-Conference First Team honors in two different spots in the same season (Jamerial Parks, Spring 2021). Orr, the all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards at Brevard College, hauled in a career-high 48 receptions for 837 yards with 10 receiving touchdowns, bringing his career totals to 123 receptions (school record), 1,893 yards (school record), and 19 touchdowns. Orr also served as the team's primary punt returner this season, running punts for 208 yards, including an 88-yard punt return TD. Orr ran five kicks back for 198 yards, including a 90-yard kickoff return touchdown. Orr earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors once, and was named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week as well.
Woods, a senior defensive back from Lincolnton, North Carolina, led the USA South with four interceptions, 109 interception return yards, and two interceptions returned for touchdowns. Overall, Woods recorded 31 total tackles (27 solo, four assisted) in seven games played, logging a season-high eight tackles vs. Hampden-Sydney (Sept. 14) with a tackle-for-loss and five pass breakups credited to his 2024 ledger. In three seasons with the Tornados, Woods racked up three touchdowns (two INT returns, one blocked punt return), five total interceptions, 112 tackles (89 solo, 23 assisted), 2.5 TFL, 24 total passes defensed, three forced fumbles, and three blocked kicks. Woods was selected as USA South Defensive Player of the Week and earned a D3football.com National Team of the Week selection in 2024.
Lee-Parker, a graduate running back from Auburn, Georgia, turned in a career year in his final collegiate season en route to an All-Conference First Team selection. In 2024, Lee-Parker rushed for a career-high 945 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 6.5 yards-per-carry and 105 yards-per-game. Lee-Parker concluded his illustrious Tornado career with 2,215 rushing yards and 23 rushing touchdowns, both of which are far-and away tops for a BC running back since the program transitioned to NCAA DIII. Overall in program history, Lee-Parker trailed just Kelvin Jeter (3,358 yards, 2010-14) and Jordan Ollis (2,568 yards, 2012-14) in yards, and only Ollis (34 touchdowns) in all-time rushing TDs. Lee-Parker earned USA South Offensive Player of the Week honors this season, and was an All-Conference Honorable Mention recipient last year.
