Box Score BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Brevard College men's lacrosse team (1-7, 0-1 USA South) fell 22-2 to Southern Virginia University (2-8, 1-1 USAS) on Saturday morning in Buena Vista, Virginia.
Scott Bundy made the start in goal for the Tornados, making a total of 11 stops.
Jack Hicks also worked in the frame for Brevard, stopping six shots.
Sophomore
Gage Khayat scored both of BC's goals in the game, while
Parker Corbett took a team-high six shots and picked up three ground balls.
Tyler Cameron,
Jacob Hernandez, and Khayat all caused turnovers, while
Logan Southern won four faceoffs. BC went 7-for-20 on its clear attempts, and committed 22 turnovers.
SVU's Clay Haacke scored a game-best seven goals, while JT Cutrer, Tyson Mauri, and Zak Sullivan each recorded hat tricks of three goals. Southern Virginia fired off a total of 56 shots, picked up 49 ground balls, caused 12 turnovers, went 12-for-14 on clear attempts, and won 24 of the game's 28 faceoffs.
The Tornados return to action next Saturday, March 30 at 5 p.m. for the home conference opener against Methodist University.
