BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College Baseball program finished in a tie for third place in the annual USA South Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.
BC comes into the 2025 campaign fresh off one of the program's most successful seasons in the NCAA. Brevard earned its first-ever postseason home wins in the NCAA-era en route to the program's first USA South Championship series appearance last season. BC has eclipsed the 20-win mark in three consecutive seasons, which is also an NCAA-era first. Brevard's 14 home victories in 2024 were its most since 2012 (19) as well.
N.C. Wesleyan was placed atop the rankings thanks to receiving 46 total points and five of the possible eight first place votes. The Battling Bishops finished last season with a 17-4 regular season conference record which was good for a fourth consecutive regular season title. N.C. Wesleyan would go on to capture the league tournament for the second straight year. Greensboro, who was second in the poll, grabbed 40 total points and two first place votes while Brevard and Methodist rounded out the top-three with 36 points each. The Monarchs collected the final first place vote.
The 2025 USA South Baseball Tournament will once again be conducted exclusively on campus sites. The top-six seeded teams will advance to postseason play which will begin with two, three-team, double-elimination tournaments on Thursday-Saturday, May 1-3. The winners of the those two tournaments will face each other in a best-of-three championship series the following weekend, Friday-Saturday, May 9-10.
