Nicole Bradbury: Women's Varsity Individual Omnium

Bradbury finished first in the Female Overall Omnium, competing in all four national championship events accumulating 192 total points, while teammate Lily-Rose Marois placed second (177). Madeleine Pollock also finished in the overall top-10 for the Female Varsity Omnium with a seventh-place finish (88). BC earned second in the Overall Team Omnium (635) for the third-consecutive season as well, finishing just behind Colorado Mesa University who accumulated 676 total points. The result made Brevard College once again the highest finishing collegiate program in the eastern half of the United States.

Due to late schedule changes in Colorado, Thursday featured a packed day of championship events, beginning first with the Female Varsity Short Track Cross Country National Championship race. Bradbury finished in second to lead the Tornados, finishing in 20:05 just 12 seconds off the pace of Makena Kellerman of CMU. BC crowded the top five, as Marois (4th, 20:57) and Kiara Lylyk (5th, 21:06) joined Bradbury, while Ayana Gagne placed sixth with a time of 21:12. Pollock also competed in the event for the Tornados.

Next up was the Male Varsity Short Track Country National Championship race. CMU swept the podium with Ivan Sippy, Colin O'Neil, and Jack Spangler going 1-2-3 with Brevard's Owen Clark just shy placing fourth with a time of 18:56. Other finishers for the Tornados were Ned Broersma's 16th-place finish, and Kevin Vereecke, who placed 19th.

In the Female Varsity Cross Country National Championship race, Bradbury finished in fourth (1:17:39) to garner her second medal of the day. Bradbury paced four top-10 Tornados, as she was joined by Lylyk (7th, 1:19:55), Marois (8th, 1:20:24), and Gagne (9th, 1:20:35). On the men's side, Clark turned in an impressive performance to finish in second in the Male Varsity Cross Country National Championships. In fourth place through four laps, Clark jumped two CMU riders over the course of the final two laps to finish the race in second, giving the Tornados two individual runner-up performances on the day.

Day one concluded with the always-exciting Team Relay event, in which the Brevard College quartet of Bradbury, Clark, Matthew Leliveld, and Lylyk placed second to wrap the day's action up.

Downhill was next on the agenda for the Tornados on Friday. Leliveld finished second in the Male Varsity Downhill, with Mya Dixon placing third on the Female Varsity Downhill side. The schedule changes allowed for an off day for the Tornados on Saturday before Dual Slalom finals on Sunday.

In the Female Dual Slalom, Marois (3rd), Kelly Lawson (4th), and Bradbury (5th) gave the Tornados three more podiums as BC was able to bring its grand total for the championships to 15.

Brevard College Cycling will now turn its attention to the Cyclocross season that culminates with the 2025 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships, December 10-14 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
