Brevard Partners with Warren Wilson to Host SECCC Alliance at Ride Rock Creek

Event Set for Saturday and Sunday, September 6-7 in Zirconia, NC

ZIRCONIA, N.C. - The Brevard College cycling program is set to host the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (SECCC) Alliance in partnership with Warren Wilson College cycling on Saturday and Sunday, September 6-7 at Ride Rock Creek in nearby Zirconia, North Carolina.
 
Ride Rock Creek, the site of the 2023 USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships, will serve as the home turf for the Tornados in an exciting atmosphere where Cross Country and Dual Slalom action will take place on Saturday, while Short Track XC and Downhill will be held Sunday.
 
Action begins on Saturday morning with Men's Cross Country A at 8 a.m., followed by the B division on the men's side. Women's A kicks off at 9:50 a.m., with the B, C, and Junior divisions following shortly afterwards. Men's C and Junior Cross Country will start at 11:20 a.m., and podium ceremonies for all morning races will be conducted at 12:30 p.m.
 
Qualifying for the Dual Slalom is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, with Finals to follow and award ceremonies happening at the conclusion of the event.
 
Sunday begins with the always competitive Team Relay event, scheduled for 8 a.m. Women's A Short Track XC will follow at 8:45 a.m., with Men's A (9:30 a.m.), Men's B (10:15 a.m.), Women's B/C (10:50 a.m.), and Men's C (11:25 a.m.) staggered afterwards. The Short Track XC podium ceremonies are slated for noon.
 
The SECCC Alliance will conclude with the Downhill race at 1:30 p.m., and the award ceremonies for the event will follow suit.

The Tornados continue the Mountain Bike regular season with races at Lindsey Wilson (September 20-21) and Lees-McRae (September 27-28), with the season culminating with the 2025 USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships at Powderhorn Resort in Mesa, Colorado from Thursday-Sunday, October 9-12.
