BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College sophomore forward
Kayden Johnson was selected as the USA South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week after a pair of stellar individual performances in BC's first two wins of the 2025-26 season.
Johnson, a second-year Tornado from Statesville, N.C., averaged 21.5 points per game with seven rebounds per contest in wins at Bob Jones and at Warren Wilson.
In a victory at Bob Jones to open the season, Johnson went 9-of-13 from the field with a 3-pointer and a free throw for 20 points with seven rebounds and a steal. In a triumph at Warren Wilson, Johnson supplanted her newly-set career high with 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting with seven made free throws and seven rebounds.
The Tornados will play at home for the first time in the 2025-26 season on Friday at 7 p.m. against Johnson and Wales-NC at The Bosh.
