Recent BC graduated alumni
Madison Bowen,
Hannah Hersh, and
Sophie Trantham – alongside rising junior
Gracie Spangler – were all selected for the prestigious honor.
The Academic All-District team is part of the Academic All-America program that has been honoring outstanding academic and athletic achievement by student-athletes throughout the landscape of college sports since 1952. The Women's Tennis Academic All-America teams will be announced next month.
Bowen, a product of Greensboro, North Carolina, graduated from BC last weekend with a Bachelor's degree in Health Science. Earning her first career appearance on the CSC Academic All-District team, Bowen was a USA South All-Conference First Team honoree after a stellar 2024-25 campaign on the courts. Additionally, Bowen graduated from BC Magna Cum Laude.
A recent graduate from Estero, Florida, Hersh makes her third career appearance on the CSC Academic All-District Team. Hersh graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Health Science from BC, and was an Honors program graduate.
Trantham, a Matthews, North Carolina native who graduated from BC Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, appears on the CSC Academic All-District squad for the third time in her Tornado career. The Honor's program graduate eclipsed the 50-win mark in singles action for her collegiate career in 2025.
Spangler, a rising junior from Clinton, South Carolina, makes her first career appearance on the CSC Academic All-District team. She will enter her third year in a Tornado uniform in 2025-26 and is currently a Criminal Justice major at BC.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Women's teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
