Four Selected to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, Brevard Named Team Academic Honor Squad

BREVARD, N.C. – Four Brevard College women's lacrosse student-athletes – Grace Blanton, Emily Denaga, Briana Landman, and Alyse Moore – were named to the Academic Honor Roll by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Brevard WLAX was also selected as an Academic Honor Squad by the IWLCA.
 
The IWLCA honored 1,286 student-athletes from 201 different institutions on the 2024-25 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. 

The IWLCA has named 383 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2024-25 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
 
Blanton, a Birmingham, Alabama native who recently graduated from BC by completing her degree in Wilderness Leadership & Experiential Education (WLEE), concluded a four-year playing career for the Tornados with USA South All-Conference Third Team honors. In 2025, Blanton recorded a career-high 38 ground balls with 17 caused turnovers, and scored a career-best four goals with four assists as well. Overall in her four seasons with the Tornados, Blanton registered 11 goals and six assists offensively, while totaling 79 ground balls and 41 caused turnovers.
 
Denaga, a standout Buford, Georgia, product who earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Brevard this past May, caps off her collegiate career with her third Academic Honor Roll selection. Denaga is BC's all-time career leader in goals scored (202), points (257), and draw controls (430). She helped lead BC's offense in 2025, scoring a team-high 51 goals and recording 58 total points with 28 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers defensively. Denaga also won a team-high 85 draw controls throughout the 2025 campaign. For her efforts this past season, Denaga earned All-Conference Second Team accolades from the USA South.
 
Landman, a rising senior from Sterling Heights, Michigan, earns Academic Honor Roll following her first collegiate women's lacrosse campaign. The Criminal Justice major started all 15 games for the Tornados in 2025, registering three caused turnovers and a ground ball.
 
Moore, a recent Criminal Justice graduate from BC, hailing from Pickens, South Carolina, earned All-Conference Second Team honors in 2025 following a breakout campaign with career-highs in ground balls (29) and caused turnovers (31). Additionally, Moore scored a career-best three goals offensively.
