BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College sophomore corner infielder
Lucas Woodard was honored by the USA South Conference on the heels of BC baseball's 6-0 start to 2026, earning Player of the Week honors.
Woodard, a second-year Tornado from Largo, Florida has gone a combined 11-for-17 (.647) with a .619 on-base percentage, and a 1.118 slugging percentage to go along with seven runs scored, 13 RBI, three doubles, one triple, one home run, one walk, and five stolen bases as the Tornados have posted a 6-0 record to open the season. The wins have come over Johnson & Wales (NC) (3), Guilford, and Berea (2). Woodard, in five games, posted week game-highs of four hits, two runs scored (twice), four RBI (twice), one triple, one home run, one walk, and two stolen bases (twice).
Through six games in 2026, Woodard leads the team in batting average (.647), hits (11), doubles (three), triples (one), and RBI (13).
Woodard and the Tornados are back at home on Friday, kicking off a three-game series vs. Capital at 2 p.m. before a Saturday doubleheader starting at noon.
